… awards and popularity polls

I was pleased and honoured when my colleague Verica Gvozdanovic rang to ask if I would be willing to accept her nominating me for these awards. There is a lot about this business that comes with intrinsic rewards, the main one is that people are so passionate about what they do and it is a pleasure to see them break through to new levels of engagement with their Executive stakeholders.

Being nominated for awards such as this is another form of reward, more so as I have a policy of never noninating myself for them.

I am shortlisted as a nominee for the Industry Personality of the Year, the criteria in this cateogry is to have added value and made the arena a better place. I hope I have done that and that you find my writing and presenting useful, but there is a catch.

Unfortunately this is award is a popularity poll – so I need to get out and drum up the vote. That is where you come in!

Vera has done her bit with the nomination, so please can I ask that any readers out there go and vote for me. It will only take a minute or two, the only criteria seems to be that you live and/or work in the region.
This is the link to the poll. Voting closes 13:00 hours on 7 AUgust (Australian Eastern time) so get in early (and often if you like).

Congratulations to David and Paul on their nominations – I hope none of my Kiwi readers will be swayed by national sentiments. But hopefully all the Aussies will be!

The 2015 Awards will be presented at a dinner in Melbourne on Friday 21 August. Still time to register for the dinner – hope to see you there.
