Chris Brogan’s Blog is a great source of information on social media.
Recently he posted about his novel approach to setting goals and resolutions for the New Year.
Instead of setting specific resolutions he sets 3 words as his guiding principles, or the keyword to focus his mind on his goals.
Chris describes it this way;
“it works something like this: think of how you want to be successful ….
Then, try to think in even broader terms. Extrapolate on the broader terms, and find one word to hang the idea on.”
I guess we have all set New Year’s Resolutions, and probably forgotten about them by the end of January.
Chris’s idea sounds like a great way to provide a target that pulls you towards your longer-term goals. It is something that we can use to progress our personal objectives and also perhaps to promote the conversation on resilience.
My challenge to any readers that are actually out there today is twofold. Please post your response in a comment.
- What are your three words for your own goals for the coming year?
- What are the three words you word choose to promote the cause of resilience in the coming year?
Happy New year to all. I will be back in a couple of days to share my words.
