Another week down, and some really good stuff arrived in Google Reader this week.
The piece that most interested me came from Jan Husdal “Organizing Resilience“. It provided me with a great reference and the inspiration for a whole post – so keep an eye out for that.
While still thinking about the ideas and concepts from Jan’s post I read Rosabeth Moss Kanter’s “Adopt a Cow: Strategy as Improvisational Theatre“. Comparing the structured, planned and rehearsed approach of traditional theatre to the adaptive nature of improv theatre has some direct application in understanding the concept of resilience.
Alex Fullick has a post about Crisis Communications – highlighting a helpful tip in this area using the acronym RACE;
- Research
- Action Plan
- Communicate
- Evaluate
Have to put in an Honourable Mention for Riskczar’s – “Porn risk management“. Bet the hit count was good on that one Trevor.
It was also good to see posts resume from John Glenn this week. “Turning Risk from a Four-Letter word into a Value Proposition” – highlighting the wider adoption of ‘real’ risk thinking, and that more people are starting to learn it is more than just about systems.
Welcome back John, I tried to leave a comment but the blogger system would’nt let me – is that a new risk mitigation?
