Welcome to 2011 Business Continuity Awareness Week

This week is Business Continuity Awareness Week.

Over recent years the Business Continuity Institute has built the events and promotion of this week, this year there are a number of online and real world events that people can join.

The best place to start is the BCAW Website.

One interesting new feature this year is the online incident simulation game BC24 – you can check that out here.

There are also a series of webcasts – despite the late start (Australian time) I am interested to hear the discussion around the concept of ‘informal’ BCM tonight with Lyndon Bird and Lee Glendon.

I will be supporting the week here on the blog also, with posts to complement the events and theme.

This year the theme is centred around three reasons why an organisation should embrace Business Continuity Management;

  • Competitive advantage through operational resilience
  • Protecting value and reputation in a crisis
  • Transparent corporate governance and risk oversight

Hope to see you at one of the events, have a Happy BC Awareness Week!

Is your organisation participating in the events this week?

Do you have internal awareness raising events planned to coincide with BCAW?
